Markus is the thinker of the team. Responsible for all things business, he splits his
time between Berlin and New York. Before becoming a film producer and entrepreneur, he
worked as a press spokesman and CCO and did political communications at the German Parliament.
Jonas is the designer. An award winning cinematographer in his former life, he now pours his aesthetic
ingenuity into crafting beautiful digital products. He made it his personal mission to solve the mobile
pain points of fellow video lovers out there.
Mathias is the iOS lead. The term 'rapid prototyping' takes on a new meaning after you meet this french front
end developer. Time from starting to learn Objective-C to publishing a vastly successful 1st app version to the
App Store: 3 weeks! One year later, nobody knows as much about iOS video architecture as him.
Andreas is the backend and infrastructure expert. With more than a decade of IT experience, he is the one making
sure that our apps are working smoothly and securely in the cloud. He has traveled extensively and built IT-teams in
four different countries.

Awkward has been an excitingly successful and fun side project. The idea was simple but
awesome: Record a blurred, anonymous 10-second microvideo and share it with the world. One
week after launch Awkward was downloaded over 10.000 times and over a million blurred video
confessions where swiped by our users. After Mashable broke the story, Awkward was featured
on numerous publications and several TV shows across the US and Europe.
Pinio was our first product: A video based discussion platform. Think Twitter meets Vine in a beautiful
quality context. Even though we realized quickly that microvideo hadn’t enough mainstream appeal as a
discussion medium, we scored some impressive beta stage publicity. Besides celebrities from Berlin’s
startup scene, even Chancellor Merkel recorded a microvideo on our platform. Still in love with Pinio,
we believe its time has yet to come.
